Would you trust your GP to perform heart surgery?

I was marvelling today at just how many people entrust their life’s savings to people who are not sufficiently qualified to do the job. At present there is no industry association to oversee financial consultants in Asia, with no existing code of conduct or basic industry standards laid out. Effectively this means that with minimal training and only very basic knowledge, anyone can set up and call themselves a financial consultant. Many of these people are dealing with huge amounts of money and, frighteningly, deciding how it should be invested. They may be perfectly nice people, I’m not suggesting that they are all cowboys (although inevitably there are some and we have all heard the horror stories) but qualified they are not.

Put it this way, if you were diagnosed with a heart condition you wouldn’t trust your GP to perform complicated heart surgery. Although (s)he or she is a highly trained practitioner with a wealth of knowledge about the human body, including the heart, (s)he doesn’t have the specialist knowledge of that particular organ to enable him to carry out delicate surgery.

It’s the same with financial advisers. The good ones will have a wealth of knowledge about the investment environment, how the stock market works, the different financial products are available and which ones would be of benefit to their clients but they don’t have the specialist, detailed knowledge to manage their clients’ investments.

That’s why here at Infinity Solutions we follow a different model. We scoured the globe for the partner who would offer the best professional investment management service and we selected Tilney Bestinvest. They have over 25 years of experience and one of the largest and most highly revered research teams in the industry. Research is the cornerstone of any financial investment and Tilney Bestinvest compile monthly data on more than 85,000 funds to enable their fund managers to select the best ones for their clients.

Infinity’s financial consultants are the GPs to Tilney Bestinvest’s heart surgeons. Our expertise is in financial planning and helping you reach your financial goals from where you are now. This not only involves savings investments and retirement planning but also insurance to protect your assets, health and family. Tilney Bestinvest is the financial equivalent of a heart surgeon; a specialist investment management company with the in-depth resources and know-how to put together investment portfolios that protect and grow your capital. By working in partnership together we can help keep your finances in tip-top shape.
